Point 16, Big Sur Wedding | { Philip + Ruth }

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

In Philip’s vows to his beautiful bride, one of his promises was to always be there to keep her warm. Well, he was immediately put to the test! Rain or shine, these two made merry, and their wedding was a huge success and a beautiful event.  They wedding was a true do-it-yourself event. Philip geniuosly constructed their photobooth, the bridesmaids all made the desserts and carmel apples as guest favors, the flowers were put together by mom’s and aunts, and ruth decorated the tables with personal flare. The ceremony and reception were held at Point 16, in Big Sur and they got ready at the Big Sur Campgrounds and Cabins which were both beautiful backdrops with the fog. Most importantly, all of their families and friends were so excited and supportive of this union. They are both amazing friends who have touched many people’s lives and really seem to have a heart for others. enjoy!

Hillsborough, CA Wedding | { Ryan + Macharva }

Tuesday, June 28, 2011

After a couple hours of shooting some clients smiles start to freeze and need to start stretching out their cheeks. Not Macharva, She’s  used to it smiling all day :)  She and Ryan seem to have a fairy tale sort of relationship which is perfect since their wedding had a very whimsical fairy tale sort of feel. Bright flowers decorating a beautiful garden  ceremony and then a formal ballroom reception at the Hillsborough Racket Club.  It was so fun to see Ryan let loose on the dance floor for a surprise Grease rendition too!

Santa Barbara, CA Wedding | Tom + Tracy

Saturday, May 14, 2011

At the salon the morning of her wedding, Tracy was calm as a summer’s day. As her hair was curled and teased she sat there chatting and giggling with her bridesmaids –  a huge smile on her face. You could tell she was confident, excited, and ready for this day to finally be here. I didn’t get to see Tom till the ceremony, and he had the same eager and excited expression as he waited for his bride to walk down the aisle. They are a fantastic couple and I was happy to be counted among everyone there to support and celebrate their union.  Tom  and Tracy tied the knot at the El Montecito Presbyterian church and then had a beautiful reception at the historic old El Paso Restaurant in downtown  Santa Barbara. Her hair was done at Shear Design in nearby Summerland. Hope to see you both soon!

Meridian Vineyards Wedding | { Steven + Courtney }

Monday, March 14, 2011

There are some couple’s about whom it feels outrageous to imagine a world in which they did not exist together. People who seem to fit together just right. Steven and Courtney definitely fall into that category.  I absolutely loved watching them interact all day and getting to spend some behind the scenes time with them and their new little family.  They had a classy celebration at Meridian Vineyards in Paso Robles. The whole day was seamlessly coordinated by Jenn and her Allure Events team who also created the luxurious floral arrangements. Hair and makeup by The Queensbees. The yummies provided by Two Cooks Catering.  Reception lighting and jams pumped by Kramer DJ’s and Entertainment. Dangerously delicious cupcakes (im serious) by Double D Cupcakes. Overall, it was quite the party to celebrate quite the couple. And as usual I had a hard time narrowing down images for this post so enjoy!

Holland Ranch Wedding | { Chuck + Pam }

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Whenever I tell people I am a wedding photographer I always get asked to share bridezilla stories from the lexicon of them that most people assume I have stored up. Honestly though, most of my brides are calm, confident,unflustered, suprisingly thoughtful, and genuinely a joy to be around. Pam was definitely no exception. She was excited and quick to  smile and enjoy the day. Chuck and his groomsmen were similarly all so polite and charming. Pam dreamed up an amazing event at the beautiful Holland Ranch. I have always wanted to shoot there, horses, boats, neon signs, so much to work with! So  getting to shoot there with a gorgeous couple who were both willing to take some risks (including a sunset boat ride) was a blast! Congrats you two! and special thanks to my assistant/sidekick Kyle Wolllet (willing to go to all lengths to  chase down uncooperative horses ) – couldn’t do it with out great help!

Clos LaChance, San Martin Wedding | { Dominic + Katie }

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

I was thrilled when I pulled up to Clos La Chance,  this amazing Tuscan style winery in San Martin, CA. Dom and Katie’s wedding was beautiful and they both seemed to be having such a great time! Katie has so much style – did you see her shoes? – and was such gorgeous bride. Congrats both of you and I hope you love the images!

Special thanks to Tayler Enerle for driving up to assist me and contribute her fabulous images.

Vendor Spotlight, Wedding | Loboheme Spring Line

Monday, December 20, 2010

loboheme hair pieces vintage, bridal accessories, old books, what to read next, sanitarium spa SLO, mike larson sophieOther than give credit where it is due to the fantastic crew we teamed up with for this shoot, I’m not going to say much, rather let the images speak for them selves. This shoot was inspired by and for Lauren Christensen’s spring line of vintage hair pieces for her fashion behind company Lobomeme. Our favorite florist next door, Corinne of Panacea Floral Event Design put together the sassy bouquets. We shot at my favorite local spot, the ever funky and fresh Santitarium Spa in SLO. Our beautiful models were plucked, polished, and primped by Reeda Gorham from Faces and A La Mode who does amazing lavish lash extensions and airbrush makeup (brides flock to her in the dozens for her makeup that lasts all day, and into the next! ). Up dos and bumpy braids were the whimsical hairstylings of Skylae Johnson also from Faces and A La Mode. The gorgeous lace dress and slip, and the tea length tea dress and sash were shipped in from Maine from Kara Wilbur’s new bridal gown boutique Sweet Love. Laura Robertson of Touch of Style Event was on board as well to help coordinate day of details (including the live doves!) and throw in her always appreciated style tips. The second half of the shoot we caravanned to Montana de Oro to shoot in the eucalyptus grooves… a special thanks to our unbelievably adorable energizer bunny models, Kassie and my good friend Alexa (whose wedding I am shooting in June!!) Check out Mike’s blog as well for his perspective of the day! Waterford:CA Wedding | { Chris + Lindsey }

Saturday, October 30, 2010

You can’t measure love empirically… but Chris and Lindsey sure do have a lot of people that love them and a very obvious love for each other! Both come from amazing families and have great friends. And its not hard to understand why- even after just meeting them twice, I felt like we were already old friends :) The whole event was a labor of love coordinated by community members, and hosted at the Walker’s family ranch in Waterford, CA. One of my favorite details of the day were all of the tables that Chris built himself for the occasion! Lindsey you looked spectacular and were so graceful all day- and it was fun watching Chris admiring you. I hope you enjoy this teaser- I can’t wait for you to see the rest!!

Special thanks to my shooters Necia Odening and Tayler Enerle for braving the drive up with me and lending their amazing talents and helping hands!

Dana Powers Barn Wedding | { Matt + Victoria }

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

From their first meeting at the studio, Matt and Victoria have been fun, genuine, and so full of great ideas – I have been looking forward to their wedding for months! Weddings are such a personal event and so I love it when couples throw conention out and personalize their wedding and really make the day theirs :)  The Dana Powers Barn was a perfect backdrop for their day of button bouquettes (which she found on Etsy,) festive pumps, hula hoops, patterend chinese lanterns, and costume props for the photobooth. Catering by Sea Shanty Catering and make-up by Candice Simmons. Victoria was so creative and colorful (not to mention fabulously photogenic and sassy) and Matt and his groomsmen were all very dapper and great sports. All in all a success- I hope you both love the images – Keep in touch!

Thanks as always to my adorable assistant  Katie Dreager and my second shooter Tayler Enerle for her amazing work!
