Santa Margarita Rnach Wedding | { Nate + Leah }

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Chemistry is a funny thing; its undefinable, but also undeniable. Some couple’s just have it. Cue Nate and Leah. I wasn’t planning on taking anymore weddings this fall, but when Leah called and started expounding on the plan for their day in her smokey, genuine voice, I knew I had to take it on. Since then it has become one of my pet projects. They planned a dust-bowl themed celebration at Santa Margarita Ranch, decked out with turn of the century details, decor, and attire. Succulent themed floral designs by Robin at Social Construct Events, and day of coordination by Taffy at All Traditions. Hair and makeup by my favorites, The Queensbees. As amazing as everything was, it was all peripheral to the couple themselves. Their relationship is the stuff of legend. They both have magnetic personalities, and are so genuine, quirky, fun,and uninhibited (you should see Leah tear up the dance floor!). All my best and hope your lives continue to be as unconventional and exciting as your wedding was :)

Also a special thanks to my assistant extraordinaire Amanda Driver for her work, some of which is featured below.

well a big part of me can be explained by knowing that my mom is french. lucky as I could be, I got to spend many childhood summers in france learning the language and acquiring an early palatte for pate, cheese, art, jaques brel, les petits swiss, and francophone anything. (random tip- if you ever have just one day in paris, skip the louvre and take the metro straight to the musee d’orsay on le rive gauche. Impressionist heaven.) i love to travel but am just as excited about eventually settling down and staying in the same place for a while, having a big garden and watching the seasons change a la candide.

i come from a big family. six kids. which means i have 5 full time best friends. i wouldn’t trade our times together for anything. we are a rambunctious group of surfing, singing, dancing, cooking, eating, outdoors people.

the big news is (drumroll….) i just got engaged! it turns out weddings really are a great place to meet people. my mister, bobby, was a groomsman at a wedding i was shooting. its crazy to feel so fated to someone and reflect on just how much chance was involved in meeting each other. what if i had already been booked that day!?! phew… i feel like the luckiest girl alive and am so excited for adventures to come
