I had such a great afternoon meeting David and Jenn down in Malibu. They are such a relaxed couple and such a great match for eachother :) The best part, is that their wedding is only a couple days away!

Vendor Spotlight, Wedding | Andrew + Sara

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

One of the great parts of my new PR position is getting to help coordinate promo shoots for Mike. This shoot was for a video featuring Mike by one of his sponosors, California Sunbounce, thats going  to be presented at Photokina - the largest photography expo in the world that is going to be held in Columba Germany this fall. This shoot had a lot of favorites for me. Reeda and Skylae, the Faces al La Mode superstar team contributed  their skills on hair and makeup. Loboheme sent in some of her always fabulous vintage hair pieces. We got to shoot at at the Sanitarium.  The Rambler I saw parked downtown and left a note saying I would love to use the car for an upcoming shoot…fate.  We were going for a classy vintage look and I instantly thought of the Sara and Andrew and was so excited that they were available for the shoot! (Click here to see image from their wedding that Chloe shot last year). These are just a couple of snapshots that I snuck in, but check out Mike’s blog for his amazing portraits from the day.

Santa Barbara Wedding | Rob + Kelley

Friday, July 9, 2010

Rob and Kelley are some of my dearest friends. Both bright and energetic and active (both love to surf). Their families were good friends growing up and while Rob and Kelly were both going to school in Hawaii, they fell in love. They had a quick engagement and planned the wedding in a couple of months! The whole event was completely DIY, a real family and community event. Every one was so excited for these two love birds to tie the knot and were more than willing to lend a hand in the festivities:) They had a private religious ceremony in the morning and then in the afternoon their family put together an amazing garden party in downtown Santa Barbara. When I say DIY i mean from the ground up :) Kelley’s mom made her dress (!) and did all of the flower arrangements, corsages, boutonnieres, and bouquets and collected all the wicker furniture and . Kelley’s cousin did her hair just  25 mins before the event. Rob’s slim fit suit was a steal at H&M. The afternoon reception was in their church’s courtyard in downtown Santa Barbara. Her dad and his friends played some good ol fashion folk music while her sister joined in on the violin here and there. The bbq and food was made and served by friends. They had croquette and lawn bowling set up for everyone. In addition to a cake they also had a cake shaped pinata that Rob swung around for the kids (Kelley eventually letting loose on it too!). The whole event was very informal, which was very characteristic of the couple, and everyone had a genuine good time together. Afterwards we snuck away for a quick portrait session at the Santa Barbara Music Academy.

Hollister Ranch Wedding | Matt & Alexa

Friday, June 25, 2010

I have really been spoiled lately with some amazing couples and events- this one was particularly special. Hollister Ranch is a dream location and Alexa and I were highschool friends and let me just say- Matt caught a good one, through and through. This day was so blessed. The ceremony was held over looking a classic Hollister Ranch point break. The Reception was held at the Hollister house.  The flowers were whimiscal, light and stunning – a recipe of simple flowers crafted into a true work of art by another friend Nico Cervantes. Catering by the aptly named  Pure Joy team from Santa Barbara. Coordination by Wine Country Events. It was a truly unique day and i am so enthusiastic about Matt and Alexa and the solid foundations that they have built for their marriage. Blessings and much love to you both – thanks for letting me be apart of your day! Special thanks to my fantastic assistant who did most of  the guys getting ready picts, Tayler Enerle, check out her site as well!

Carmel, CA Engagement Shoot | { Ryan + Macharva }

Friday, June 18, 2010

Ryan and Macharva live in Alexandria, Virginia but we met up over Christmas break in Carmel for an engagement shoot at the Carmel Mission. It was so great to finally meet them and Macharva was just as sweet and fun  as I imagined her from our phone conversations! Ryan proposed to her on a trip they took to Italy over Macharva’s birthday. He took her up to a view point of the old city and gave her a scrap book from all their time dating and the last page asked her to marry him – How romantic is that! I am so excited for their wedding this spring and can’t wait to hang out again – in hopefully warmer weather! Thanks for being good sports you two :)

Carmel Wedding | { shoes }

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Everything you read on blogs about shoes making an exponential difference in the aesthetic feel of the day is true! But we didn’t have to tell that to Kay though, she had a style and pizazz all her own already :) Here are a couple of my shots from the getting ready pictures that morning, but now that I’ve hooked you with these fabulous accessories, check out Chloe’s blog for more from Layne and Kay’s truly unique wedding celebration!

San Luis Obispo Engagement Shoot | { Chris + Lindsey }

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

The hardest part about this shoot was having so many fun ideas and such an open couple and only having one afternoon! The rest was easy though- Chris and Lindsey were fun and flirty and fantastic in front of the camera :) We did some fun portraits (I borrowed the through the lens idea from Jake!) and the last section of pictures we went for a 50’s summer ball-game feel ( a bit of Now and Then nostaglia coming out) Lindsey, of course being Chris’s adoring girl next door fan. Honestly am so excited about this couple, both that they found each other right as they were packing their bags to leave school after Cal Poly graduation, and that I get to shoot their wedding! So looking forward to it :)
