So excited, Mike and my pictures were published on two popular blogs today! The LoBoheme shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty as part of their fashion week. And CA Wedding Wave posted a melange of Mike and my images from Simon and Kristine Dank’s wedding that I shot with Mike last fall. Both are great resources for wedding planning and inspirations! Check them out :)

Vendor Spotlight, Wedding | Loboheme Spring Line
Tuesday, April 20, 2010
Other than give credit where it is due to the fantastic crew we teamed up with for this shoot, I’m not going to say much, rather let the images speak for them selves. This shoot was inspired by and for Lauren Christensen’s spring line of vintage hair pieces for her fashion behind company Lobomeme. Our favorite florist next door, Corinne of Panacea Floral Event Design put together the sassy bouquets. We shot at my favorite local spot, the ever funky and fresh Santitarium Spa in SLO. Our beautiful models were plucked, polished, and primped by Reeda Gorham from Faces and A La Mode who does amazing lavish lash extensions and airbrush makeup (brides flock to her in the dozens for her makeup that lasts all day, and into the next! ). Up dos and bumpy braids were the whimsical hairstylings of Skylae Johnson also from Faces and A La Mode. The gorgeous lace dress and slip, and the tea length tea dress and sash were shipped in from Maine from Kara Wilbur’s new bridal gown boutique Sweet Love. Laura Robertson of Touch of Style Event was on board as well to help coordinate day of details (including the live doves!) and throw in her always appreciated style tips. The second half of the shoot we caravanned to Montana de Oro to shoot in the eucalyptus grooves… a special thanks to our unbelievably adorable energizer bunny models, Kassie and my good friend Alexa (whose wedding I am shooting in June!!) Check out Mike’s blog as well for his perspective of the day! Without further ado…

Last week Mike and I teamed up with one of his past brides, Lauren Christensen, to coordinate a promo shoot for her spring line of vintage hair pieces for her fabulous company LoBoheme. More to come on the rest of the fantastic professionals that came together for this shoot, and of course many many more pictures (dont know how I am going to narrow them down!), but for now, here is one of my images from the day to pique your interest!
Paris, France Personal | { Impressions }

My first Christmas away from home! On whim that still surprises me, I booked a ticket to Paris to spend the holidays with my family in France. (My mom caught the american dream bug when she was about 4 and as soon as visa complications would permit, she made her way to the states for college and met my dad, a canadian born but CA raised surfer. Lucky as I could be, I got to spend many a childhood summer in France acquiring an early palatte for pate, cheese, art, Jaques Brel, les petits swiss, and francophone anything. This trip was my first winter visit and while the weather outside was frightful, the sights were so delightful! However, a bit bored of post card pictures, and inspired by my hours spent in the Musee d’Orsay, I decided to snap “impressions” of the city of lights. I filled CF card after CF card with blurry, and long exposure shots (to the utter confounding of my grandparents).The only trouble was I was often too frozen to get my camera out and my gloves off! Here are just a tiny handful of shots from my nana’s apartment and the parisian streets that at every corner remind you “We are not in Kansas anymore…”

The holidays are steeped in family traditions. But this year I broke tradition and spent my first christmas away from home and flew to France (pictures from my trip to come soon!). I discovered a new tradition in my family on my trip. My grandfather was a fantastic film photographer! We spent hours looking at old slides on an equally old projector in his stereotypically tiny Parisian apartment. Vive la france, family, and film!

As part of the Mike Larson Inc. team, we are all first and foremost photographers but we all have jobs within the company. For the last 2 years (I can’t beleive how fast time has flown by!) I have been our studio manager. This year I have also taken on the role of our teams PR rep which has been an exciting new challenge :) My job is to get our photographers amazing work out and about on the world wide web for all to enjoy. Yesterday we had Jake and Necia’s wedding featured on Wedding Chicks! Check it out. To see more from this event you can also check out Mike’s blog post for this adorable wedding
