Personal | welcome welcome

well a big part of me can be explained by knowing that my mom is french. lucky as I could be, I got to spend many childhood summers in france learning the language and acquiring an early palatte for pate, cheese, art, jaques brel, les petits swiss, and francophone anything. (random tip- if you ever have just one day in paris, skip the louvre and take the metro straight to the musee d’orsay on le rive gauche. Impressionist heaven.) i love to travel but am just as excited about eventually settling down and staying in the same place for a while, having a big garden and watching the seasons change a la candide.

i come from a big family. six kids. which means i have 5 full time best friends. i wouldn’t trade our times together for anything. we are a rambunctious group of surfing, singing, dancing, cooking, eating, outdoors people.

the big news is (drumroll….) i just got engaged! it turns out weddings really are a great place to meet people. my mister, bobby, was a groomsman at a wedding i was shooting. its crazy to feel so fated to someone and reflect on just how much chance was involved in meeting each other. what if i had already been booked that day!?! phew… i feel like the luckiest girl alive and am so excited for adventures to come

    Emerald — O my!!!! I just got really excited!!! Your pictures are so…YOU and it appears as if you two have been in love forever. I like them a lot a lot! Your bangs are adorable too :) Cheers to you and Bobby!

    Agnes — i love it

    Panama — We’ve got lots of new Valentine’s cards in from Fugu Fugu Press, Wit & Whistle and Rifle Paper Co. Boy-girl love, girl-girl love, boy-boy love. We’ve got it all for you and your lover.

    skateboard — I’m not going to say what everyone else has already stated, however I do need to remark in your knowledge of the topic. Youre truly nicely-informed. I cant imagine how a lot of this I just wasnt conscious of. Thanks for bringing more info to this matter for me. Im actually grateful and really impressed.

    cheap clothes for women — Somebody essentially help to make seriously articles I would state. This is the first time I frequented your web page and thus far? I surprised with the research you made to make this particular publish amazing. Magnificent job!

    trailers — I think this is one of the most significant info for me. And i’m glad reading your article. But wanna remark on few general things, The site style is great, the articles is really nice : D. Good job, cheers

Santa Margarita Ranch Portflio, Wedding | { Bo + Brittney }

There is nothing not to like about this wedding, especially Bo and Brittney themselves. Im going to make this short and let the pictures speak for themselves and just want to give credit where it is aptly due. The girls got ready in the luxurious Austrian Suite at the Madonna Inn with Reeda from The Queensbees on makeup. Then off to Santa Margarita Ranch which was over the top decked out with burlap and flower arrangements by Katie Noonan of Wine Country Designs (she also had a wildly creative and unique bouquet for each bridesmaid!) The night ended in a killer party with Kramer DJ’s and Entertainment and a fantastic lightening storm. phew… to the pictures!! Also featured with more images on Style Me Pretty

    Katie — Sophie great job on capturing Britt and Bo’s big day! It was great working with you and we love your talent in capturing such great details and memories!

Santa Margarita Rnach Wedding | { Nate + Leah }

Chemistry is a funny thing; its undefinable, but also undeniable. Some couple’s just have it. Cue Nate and Leah. I wasn’t planning on taking anymore weddings this fall, but when Leah called and started expounding on the plan for their day in her smokey, genuine voice, I knew I had to take it on. Since then it has become one of my pet projects. They planned a dust-bowl themed celebration at Santa Margarita Ranch, decked out with turn of the century details, decor, and attire. Succulent themed floral designs by Robin at Social Construct Events, and day of coordination by Taffy at All Traditions. Hair and makeup by my favorites, The Queensbees. As amazing as everything was, it was all peripheral to the couple themselves. Their relationship is the stuff of legend. They both have magnetic personalities, and are so genuine, quirky, fun,and uninhibited (you should see Leah tear up the dance floor!). All my best and hope your lives continue to be as unconventional and exciting as your wedding was :)

Also a special thanks to my assistant extraordinaire Amanda Driver for her work, some of which is featured below.

    Leah — Sophie! Love love love! You are such a joy to work with. Can’t wait to see the rest!

    Robin — Oh Sophie these are stunning! I wish I could have spoken to you properly at the wedding; these are def. submission worthy (Robin, the florist) :)

    Devon — These pictures are amazing!! And might I add the bride and groom are stunning!!!!!!

    Nate — Sophie, you are a phenom. These are incredible!! Thanks again so much for everything!

    Nate — Also, just realized Sophie drew hearts using the Edison lights in the third-to-last image. Pretty dope!

Cass Winery Wedding | { Tyler + Tammy }

When Tyler first laid eyes on Tammy, she was sitting at a table with a group of other guys. Undaunted, Tyler came up and asked her to dance.  Some times big rewards mean big risks… its seems like it all worked out well :) They both are quite the catch and it was one of my weddings that I felt privileged to attend and get to see their relationship in action.  This was my first wedding at Cass Winery which was an amazingly photogenic venue (and the fabulous get-a-way car comes with it!) Tammy’s flawless makeup and hair done by the fabulous Queensbees team who never fail to amaze me with their talent and class!
