Wedding | Jessie & Tim | Santa Margarita Ranch, CA

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

Things have been a little crazy with Christmas right around the corner but I wanted to blog this wedding that I second shot with Jake Odening.  Jessie and Tim are amazing!  When we first got to the wedding they compared Tim to Michael Hosea, Francine River’s heroic husband from Everlasting Love, one of her amazing books depicting the story from Hosea.  I had a hard time believing it but as the day went on this peach farmer had me convinced.  I have never had a groom thank us so many times for being there…:)  And Jessie is my kind of girl, calls it like she sees it!  To be honest I was really sad that I didn’t get to know her more, she is definitely one of those people that I know I would click with right away.  But sadly enough I only got to be with this great couple for the day!

On a fun note, Jessie and Tim met each other on mission’s trip to Thailand.  This was a fun little coincidence since I met my husband on a missions trip to TJ!  This wedding definitely brought so much glory to the Lord, and it stoked me out to get to be a part of it.

Hope you guys enjoy some of my images from the day!

Uncategorized | Ivon & Carlos | Tijuana, Mexico

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Last Saturday I got to be a part of shooting a friend of mine’s wedding- Ivon.  I met Ivon when I first moved to Mexico a few years ago, she was actually one of my first friends here in Mexico.  We had a great time shooting their engagement shoot at the soccer stadium and then later at the fair, and we had lots of plans for their wedding day but we had to make some last minute changes!  A few days before the wedding day we heard that it was supposed to be pouring raining on Saturday.  We quick made some changes and found a great hotel here in Tijuana to do indoor shots at.  Lausana, and their restaurant, were so gracious in letting us shoot there.  And because it was raining so hard the entire place was empty, which made shooting there so much easier.  Thank goodness for the rain!

Other then the flooding of streets and very wet boots and socks the day went really well!  It was beautiful and I was so honored to be able to be a part of it!

Enjoy!

Engagement | Jael & Edgar | Ensenada, Mexico

Thursday, October 20, 2011

This Sunday I shot Jael & Edgar’s engagement shoot.  I love this girl!!!  And of course her future hubby too. :)  Jael is amazing, really something special.  One of those people that you just love to be around because she is just so sweet and down to earth.  Jael and I actually met because she used to work in the place that I printed at. I was printing business cards and just a few weeks later she got engaged.  A little while after that both her and her business partner Ana booked their wedding packages with me.  Jael and Ana are both also amazingly talented graphic designers and run a graphic design business called Mellocotton.  One of the many things that they do is design wedding invitations, right up my alley.

Edgar is a lawyer and Jael is an artist, doesn’t get much opposite than that!  But they are such a perfect combination.  I love it!  Edgar is also very down to earth and approachable.  This is a couple that I foresee a long future of friendship with.

The first shots that we took are actually in their Melocotton shop, so cute and perfect for photos!  The shots in the middle are at Casa Vieja, mine and George’s favorite place to eat hamburgers at.  The last shots are at a new coffee and tea shop in Ensenada called Camelia.  Such a cute place!  One that Jael loves to go to.

Hope you guys enjoy the pictures.

Wedding | Jason & Rebecca | Montecito

Sunday, October 16, 2011

This last weekend I helped the amazing Chloe Murdoch shoot a wedding at Montecito.  I love assisting Chloe because

1. She is an amazing photographer

2. She is one of my closest friends

3. Shooting weddings with friends are fun!

We shot at a beautiful home in Montecito, truly beautiful.  The couple was Jason and Rebecca- both down to earth fun people.

This wedding was beautiful.  They covered their pool with a glass surface and turned it into the dance floor slash bar area.  There were tons of fun details at this wedding, thanks to the incredibly talented Nico Cervantes.  Nico is an amazing event planner that makes a photographers job so easy by giving us so many beautiful details to shoot.

Although we had a close call with the police, who wanted to shut the party down early… but thank goodness the wedding made it to the end without any noise violations!  The band celebrated by playing “We don’t need no education…teachers, leave those kids alone.”

Hope you all enjoy the pictures!
