No waiting In lines on the JMT
Last week, my dad, a couple of friends and I went on a nine mile backpacking trip into the Sierra Nevada's . We went to a lake called thousand Island lake that was nestled under a 13,000 foot peak by the name of Banner.
It was a beautiful trip, the lake was breath taking and in the early morning hours, it felt like we were in a fairy tail.
The first night yielded a special visitor , a 1200 pound female black bear. She crept nto our camp only a few hours after our weary bodies went to sleep, grabbed my pack and then dragged it back into the woods. My friend Caleb was able to scare her away and save my pack with two pots and his underwear. She came back again but was forced to leave by a 12 lb rock being hurled at her feet. The rest of the nights were restful.

We fished, hiked, and laughed together. It was a great time to get out, way out and enjoy God's beauty and to enjoy the company of your friends. The trip ended with a huge double cheesburger and a bountiful side trip to our favorite fishing spot.
If you have never been in the back country, i highly recommend you go . Day hike or back pack or hire a pack team. You will be in for majesty beauty, breath taking views and no waiting in lines.
