This past Saturday I photographed my new friends Chuck and Nicole. It was such a beautiful May first with blue sky and classic warm weather! It was a really different combination of wedding Ceremony and Reception as the Reception was held at the stunning Dolphin Bay Resort in Shell Beach which had the luxurious and high end feel and the reception followed at the rustic and stylized Barn at the S3 Ranch. The Barn was such a beautiful place to have reception with the wide open doors and the fabulous open ceiling and floor plan! It was such a nice back drop with its fun and funky ambiance which was increased exponentially by Zack from Kramer Entertainment & Lighting who projected the stary night on the ceiling and lit all the barns special decor items! My favorite part of the barn was the grand Elk heads lining the walls (at least I think they are elk) :) especially the one over the bar. Corrine from Panacea Event Floral Design really accompanied the bar well by providing beautiful glass hurricanes with white cymbidiums and also framed the beautiful bride and bridesmaids with simple but beautiful bouquets. The bride’s bouquet was made of black beauty roses, black parrot tulips and calla lilies and the bridesmaids of two tone roses and fern curls. Stunning work Corrine as always! The style of this reception was all about fun from the cute “I love my husband” pins they wore to the classic Daiquiri Whacker Gas Powered Blender that was brought to the head table for easy blending! :) What a fun time!! Congrats Chuck and Nicole and I hope you are having a blast in Greece!

Carmel California Wedding | Layne & Kay
Friday, May 7, 2010
Last week I had the joy of photographing the amazingly beautiful wedding of Layne and Kay Lisser! It was held at the always impressive Carmel Highlands Inn. We had a bit of a twist to it all as just several hours before the event it started to rain and the entire thing had to be moved in doors!! :) The hotel staff, coordinators, and florist Reina did such an amazing job of switching last min and the event when on with out a single hiccup. I really liked the blanket of light rain as I felt it really fit with the intimate nature of this colorful and cosy Asian themed Ceremony. They held the ceremony in front of the grand rustic fireplace in the main lounge which was so beautifully decorated with Asian fans, paper lanterns, orchids, and bamboo!!! Imediatly following the ceremony they had the coolest in theme suprise for their guest a Lion Dance show by the Monterey Bay Lion Dancers. I have never seen that before and wow the drums were so intense that you could feel them for like hour after in your head. :) The reception was held down stairs and was such a blast as they had the wonderful “Money Band” who kept it rocking it all evening long, along side Kay and her simply stunning ballroom dancing gown! This wedding was truly unique and Sophie and I had so much fun along with the team from the photo booth! Layne and Kay I am so excited for you both and I can’t till your image viewing on the 14th! :) Enjoy!
